Cedar Lake Speedway - DTRA 100
09/15/06
The weekend found us at New Richmond Wisconsin's Cedar Lake Speedway for 'The
100.'

If you've not been to the super-fast CLS, they've really spent a lot of time and money
over the year's building the facility up. New grandstands on the backstretch and
closed-circuit TV with a large screen display were added since I was there last.

The live driver interviews between races on the big screen were also much
appreciated and kept fans more involved.

Instead of building a picture panoramic of the facility, here's a 360 degree video of
what the facility looks like from the front stretch. Lots of enclosed suites, boxes with
picnic tables and more can be found. Remember, if you open the video link, you can
freeze it on any frame for further investigation.
Thanks for stopping by! If you'd like to view other pics &
clips, visit the compilation page by

If you click on the video links below, please be patient; to do this on the web at a
decent resolution, the file sizes are large. Unless you have at least DSL, don't try to
open them, as you will be waiting for quite a while for it to open. They are QuickTime
media files, and if you need a free copy of the software, just download it at
www.quicktime.com (it's free).
Video Clip #1
360 degree panoramic of the facility. It goes fast, but you can
freeze it at any point to get a better look.
This clip is 23MB, so it will
take a while to load - be patient! Work on something else while it
downloads if you have a slow speed connection, you can also
replay after it is finished. FYI: It took about 4 minutes to load on my
office DSL connection.
Video Clip #2
This is a longer clip than I normally like to put up, but it's a good
one. It's the last 2 laps of the modified A feature on Friday. Ron
Jones in the red 7 has come from 13th towards the front and the
black 24 car of Brad Waits restarted last after a flat tire on the first
lap - and made it up to battle with Jones.
This clip is 40MB, so it will
take a while to load - be patient! Work on something else while it
downloads if you have a slow speed connection, you can also
replay after it is finished. FYI: It took about 7 minutes to load on my
office DSL connection.
Video Clip #3
First lap of Late Model A feature. The 19 on the pole is Steve
Laursen  who was very strong all night. He started his heat 9th and
won, then went on to win this event too.
This clip is 24MB, so it will
take a while to load - be patient! Work on something else while it
downloads if you have a slow speed connection, you can also
replay after it is finished. FYI: It took about 4 minutes to load on my
office DSL connection.
