Summer 2007 Racing Adventures
First off, I apologise for 'taking the past few months off' from keeping the
racing page updated.

I've primarily been in Iowa launching two new businesses for long-time
friends
Wayne Larson and Adam Larson, called Street & Off Road. Plus,
we've been racing the
cwb15.com sprint car more regularly and I've
spent most race nights in the pits.

But here is a compilation of some of the events for you to check out from
Texas to Iowa. Hope you enjoy!

We'll start off with the DarinShort.com 'Classic Bomber' event at
Cowtown Speedway. It was a blast. All of the races that night were
started from a standing start in front of the flagstand. Here I am with my
best 50's imitation of starting a race in front of the Cowtown crowd.
And here's a few pics of our cwb15.com taken from Cowtown Speedway.
Plus we recently bought a new ATV to push off the sprint car from
StreetOffRoad.com. Of course we had to customize it with a custom
moly front bumber from Larson Racing...
Now it's off to Lakeside Speedway in KC, KS. I tell you what, this track
has got it going on. Good looking cars, fast side-by-side action, top
local drivers, quick running show. Result: full house on Friday night!
If you click on the video links below, please be patient; to do this on the web at a
decent resolution, the file sizes are large. Unless you have at least DSL, don't try to
open them, as you will be waiting for quite a while for it to open. They are QuickTime
media files, and if you need a free copy of the software, just download it at
www.quicktime.com (it's free).
Video Clip #1
Modified hot laps featuring Tom Charles. And remember, with this software,
you can freeze frame the video by using the controls at the bottom in 1/30th
second intervals.
This clip is 35MB, so it will take a while to load - be patient!
Work on something else while it downloads if you have a slow speed
connection, you can also replay after it is finished. FYI: It took about 4 minutes
to load on my office DSL connection.
Now let's buzz up the road to Knoxville for the Midget Nationals.

This was probably the most under attended race of the year - from a fan standpoint - in
my opinion. Every top USAC, Badger, NMARA and more driver was there; plus 410's. The
racing was both exciting and scary at times, due to the lightning fast track conditions.
Video Clip #2
Speaking of scary, here was Brad Loyet's nasty tumble in corner 2,
taken from the Sprint Car Hall of Fame's Wells Fargo suite .
This clip
is 35
MB, so it will take a while to load - be patient! Work on
something else while it downloads if you have a slow speed
connection, you can also replay after it is finished. FYI: It took about
4 minutes to load on my office DSL connection.
And in between races, I found time for a bit of work. (Note the sarcasm.)

Here's some pics from the Grand Opening of the Street & Off Road location in Ames, and
owner
2Larson.com. Also shown are some pictures of the Wayne Larson Collision
Classic Car Show.
Back to the races. Here's the start of the King Doodlebug Classic, the race was red
flagged for another scary crash with Kevin Swindell and I believe Jerry Coons, Jr.

And for now, I'll leave you with a cool picture that Sammy just sent
me as they were loading up to go to Knoxville, and following that is
a shot from
tyler12.com on their trip to Bristol Motor Speedway this
past weekend.
And here are some shots of the new Des Moines location of
Street & Off Road, which has its Grand Opening on August 11.
