Tx. World Dirt Track Championship - Texas Motor Speedway Modified Finale

Fort Worth, Tx., Oct. 4th, 2025….. In my best Stephen Pearcy voice, “I'm Back for more….”

Following Friday nights qualifying mains, eighteen drivers had advanced to the Saturday nights championship A-mains for the big money, the longhorn head mount trophy and the revered cowboy hat.

In the Modifieds, Stormy Scott took the win with Rodney Sanders, Cade Dillard, Colby Smith, Kyle Slader and Tristen Dycus also making their way to big show . Wally Beaty, Dustin Robinson, Cody Smith, Trent Beaver, Matt Riskey and Justin Nabors scored transfer spots in the Limited Modifieds. The Factory Stocks saw Wayne Melton, Bryce Pritchett, Jett Hefti, Mason Martin, Brandon Martin and Rodney White moving on to finals.

The rest of the field in the Modifieds would be filled with top 2 from three Last Chance Qualifiers tonight. The front rows would be set by a redraw for all three classes. In the Limited Modifieds and Factory Stocks the two Last Chance Qualifiers would complete the A-main line ups, plus a tandom draw provisional from pre-entries.

The prize at the end of the night, $4,000 to win for the Modifieds, $2,000 to win for the Limited Modifieds and $2,000 to win in the Factory Stocks.

***Prayers and positive vibes to Tanner Branch for a full recovery after getting hit by a racecar in the infield.

Modified Dough To DillardAs the three wide, 24-car Modified field took the green for their 30-lap main event, Rodney Sanders used the high side to sail by Tristan Dycus for the early lead. Dycus, John Whittington, Cade Dillard and Kyle Slader completed the top five. Dillard quickly got by Whittington for second while Sanders was already building his lead quickly running up on slower traffic battling at the back of the field.

Dillard put a slide job on his sister car of Dycus to take second and charge off after Sanders. Sanders was now getting slowed by traffic with Dillard cutting into his lead. At the halfway point it was Sanders, Dillard, Dycus, Whittington and Stormy Scott in the top five. Dillard closed to Sanders bumper as side by side traffic blocked the high and low lines. Sanders had just cleared the path when he spun himself out directly in front of Dillard who was able to dodge him in turn 1.

With Dillard now on point to start lap 18, Whittington got by Dycus for second on the restart while Colby Smith and Matthew Day used the top to rocket past Scott for fourth and fifth. By lap 20 Dillard had pulled away to a good lead, increasing his margin to a half straightaway on Whittington with five to go. M. Day caught Dycus for third and used a slide job to get by in turn 1. Dycus crossed him over restaking the spot off turn 2.

The final five laps Whittington inched closer to Dillard for the lead, but nowhere close enough to mount a serious challenge as Dillard(Robeline, La.) in the S&S Fishing & Rental, B&D Motorsports, Wheeler Metals, Joels Auto Sales, Strength Roofing & Siding, Mesilla Valley Transportation, Big Tex Trailers, Johnsville Company, Nichols, CDR Race Cars took the checkers along with the $4,000 payday, trophy and cowboy hat.

Robinson Races to Limited Modified Money at Texas World Dirt Track Championship - Oct. 4, 2025

The start of the the 25-lap Limited Modified feature saw Justin Nabors jump out front trailed by Cody Smith, Matt Riskey and a three wide battle for third. Smith made his way past Nabors for the lead on lap while Trent Beaver moved up to third. Beaver used the high line to drive around Nabors for second on lap 4. Tommy Davis jr. got turned the wrong way on lap 6 for an early caution.

On the restart, Beaver threw a slider to get past Smith in turn 1 but Nabors and Wally Beaty tangled for another caution before a lap was completed. Back under green, Dustin Robinson blasted around the top side taking second from Beaver and got alongside Smith for the lead. Robinson grabbed the top spot on lap 7 with Ray Allen Kulhanek taking third from Beaver. Johnny Torres then sent Beaver back another spot followed by Trevor Cogburn to fifth.

A lap 10 caution slowed the pace that saw Kulhanek and Smith side by side for second on the restart and Cogburn getting fourth from Torres. At halfway it was Robinson, Kulhanek, Smith, Cogburn and Torres in the top five. Smith retook second from Kulhanek on lap 13 for a couple laps before Kulhanek took it back a few laps later. As that duo swapped second, Robinson was motoring away. Smith tried the high side on Kulhanek for a lap then dove low off turn 4 to get second again. By now Robinson(Post) had a comfortable margin and was able to score the victory in his Danielle & Billy Graham owned, Grahams Heating & Air, Westex Hot Oil Services, Amarillo Off Road, Shipley Motorsports powered Express Race Cars.

Pritchett Powers to Factory Stock Payday at Texas World Dirt Track Championship Oct. 4, 2025

At the start of the Factory Stock 25-lapper it was three wide into turn 1, and four wide off turn 4. Jett Hefti grabbed the lead followed by Mason Martin, Brandon Martin, Rodney White and Tommy Davis jr. Last nights winner,

Wayne Melton had troubles and pulled off. White got by B. Martin for third leaving him side by side with Bryce Pritchett. M. Martins night ended on lap 5 when he had trouble in turn 3 for a lap 5 caution. Pritchett used the top to power alongside Hefti for the lead and get the nose out front on lap 6. White took second from Hefti leaving him door to door with Davis for third. White, Hefti and Davis were three wide for second when Donald Cain spun for a lap 9 yellow.

Hefti made a charge on top getting past White who fought back to keep the spot. White then ducked under Pritchett to get the lead on lap 11. At the crossed flags it was White, Pritchett, Hefti, B. Martin and Davis in the top five.

White and Pritchett then scrapped it out for the lead while Ty Abernathy moved into the top five. Pritchett tried to nose under White off turn 4 with five to go but couldn't get by.

Coming to take the white flag, Pritchett(Kaufman) repeated the move and was able to sneak past for the lead and hold White off to take the checkers in the Arty & Sons, CRS Suspension, Lenamond Auto Supply, Stephenville Starter & Electric, Automaster Paint & Body, Powdercoat Plus, Bill Hillhouse, Mark Herring Race Engines, In-Law Racecars. “I just have to thank everyone that helps,” said Pritchett. “I have to give all the glory to God.
